Device catalogue
To enhance the customer experience and drive device discovery, this initiative explores the implementation of an intuitive in-app catalogue within the Telstra mobile app. This feature will empower users to seamlessly browse, search, sort, and filter the latest mobile devices directly within the app.
Problem
A key limitation of the current Telstra app is the absence of an integrated experience for browsing the latest mobile devices. By directing users to an external website, we are losing valuable opportunities to provide a seamless discovery journey and directly connect customers with our newest offerings within the app itself.
Solution
To address the need for in-app mobile device discovery, this solution introduces a prominent carousel on the "Explore" section of the Telstra app. This carousel strategically showcases four of the latest mobile devices. To provide personalised and relevant recommendations, three of these devices will be targeted based on the customer's current device brand, while the fourth offers an opportunity for cross-brand discovery. A clear "View all" entry point within the carousel provides seamless access to the comprehensive mobile device catalogue. Within this dedicated catalogue view, users can leverage intuitive filter and sort functionalities to efficiently refine their search based on their specific preferences and requirements.
Card component builds
To support the new carousel and catalogue features, the design and development included the creation of specific UI components. These components were designed to effectively display all relevant device information, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging user experience.
Catalogue
The catalogue of the latest mobile devices is presented as a horizontal scrolling list, accessible via the "View all" button located above the device carousel on the Explore page.
Catalogue sort and filter
To empower customers in their device discovery journey, we integrated robust filter and sort functionalities within the catalogue. This allows users to efficiently narrow down their search based on specific criteria and preferences, ultimately helping them find the right device more easily.
Catalogue search
The catalogue's search functionality was implemented using the native search pattern, providing customers with either a selection of featured devices or their own recently searched terms as initial suggestions.
